EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE—AN IMPORTANT SKILL FOR BECOMING AN EXCELLENT MANAGER

We can see that emotional management skills are very important in life and work, especially for people who influence others. What they think and do always affects a large number of people. Understanding emotional intelligence effectively enables you to manage success.

At the same time, as we improve our emotional intelligence, we learn how to behave and communicate appropriately. Emotional balance builds our ability to take control of situations. They can view an issue from multiple perspectives and calmly find a solution.

1. The Importance of Enhancing Emotional Intelligence Skills

We need to understand the metrics used to measure emotional intelligence. Leaders always know how to understand their own strengths and weaknesses. Moreover, they are willing to receive feedback from others graciously.

Once emotional intelligence is enhanced, rigidity and authoritarianism in interactions disappear. In their place come listening, understanding, and empathy. In addition, you can more easily receive sincere feedback from subordinates.

According to Daniel Goleman in the book Applying Emotional Intelligence at Work:

“When you are at the first rung of your career, emotional intelligence can help you develop your inherent strengths; maintain your personal identity; develop creativity and motivation to act; resolve conflicts and improve communication; and form essential alliances. And when you have reached a senior position, learn how to: develop the performance of each subordinate employee; build teamwork skills; manage diversity and reduce employee turnover; make your customers more satisfied; and develop truly effective training programs.”

Today, just like professional competence, emotional intelligence is playing an increasingly important role in human success. Employers tend to use emotional intelligence scores as a criterion for evaluating people’s capabilities during recruitment and promotion.

2. So, what is emotional intelligence?

5. How Long Are These Personality Tests Used For?

Depending on the level of detail in each test, the resulting report may be used for a shorter or longer period. However, most personality tests have a validity period of 1 to 3 years, depending on the work environment. The more the environment changes, the more personality and abilities fluctuate, and vice versa.

Therefore, conducting tests and assessments periodically is very important, because it allows us to clearly see changes in employees.
